Burnham, Buckinghamshire: Letter concerning sale of an estate

Roumien, Walters, Roumien and Young, 9 Lincoln's Inn, to Thomas Batcheldor, esquire. They act for the trustees of the late Sir Gore Ouseley, who have agreed to sell an estate in Bucks including 8 acres of leasehold land in Burnham held of Eton College. "No corn rent is reserved by the existing lease pursuant to 18 Eliz. c.6. The purchaser must be therefore satisfied that no tithes arable land meadow or pasture belong to these premises within the meaning of the statute. He should also be staisfied that the premises form part of the ancient possessions of the College." The ask for held in giving these assurances.
By this Act one third at lease of the rent was to be reserved in corn on leases of lands of Colleges in the Universtities or of Winchester or Eton, "to the which anie tythes errable lande meadowe or pasture dothe or shall apperteigne."
