Content description
Petition to Sir Richard Pollard, Knight, one of the King's General Surveyors. In Hilary term last, at the petition and suit of John Snokescubbe and William Whitehed, tenants of the King within his manor of Market Overton, co. Rutland, Pollard undertook within a month to appoint an indifferent gentleman to be steward and hold a court there to enquire into the wrongs committed against them by Richard Daryngton, bailiff there. This has not yet been done, with the result that one Robert Coope has entered his plough upon parcel of the said supplicants and will occupy their lands depending in variance. They renew their petition for the appointment of a person to hold a court or a commission to hear and determine the matter.
