Extract, temp. James I, from an Order Book of the Court of Augmentations of Hilary 1541 (E. 315/97 f. 20).
On 11 Febraury 1541 Robert Alderigge, Provost of Eton, exhibited an indenture of 8 June 1443 under the conventual seal of the late monastery of Merton, co. Surrey, by which the said monatery granted the College of Eton a pool in the Thames within the parish of Upton, co. Bucks, called Bullokeslok. The said grant was allowed by the court, provided that is should not be proved invalid in future before the said court.
