Content description
Rough draft of power of attorney by John Newborough, of Eton College, gentleman, to Mr Thomas Scawen, of London, merchant, to demand, receive and give acquittance for all interest money due from £1000 advanced in the first capital stock of the Bank of England, and from another £1000 advanced in a new subscriptions for enlarging the same stock; and from £1000 advanced into the stock of the United Company of Merchants of England trading to the East Indies. The said stocks were transferred to him by Messrs Scawen and Stockdale, partners, on 7 June 1709.
