Content description
Indenture of lease, by the Dean and Canons of St George's Windsor, to the Rev Stephen Sleech, Provost of Eton, and the Rev. John Burton, the Rev. John Reynolds, and the Rev. Thomas Ashton (being the three senior Fellows of the College), William Brookland, of New Windsor, gentleman, Stiff Leadbetter, of Eton, carpenter, Joseph Benwell, of Eton, draper, and Richard Woolhouse, of Eton, butcher, of a tenement and garden in Eton, formerly in the occupation of Nathaniel Ingelo and since converted into three almshouses, lying near the land formerly of William West and now of Mary West, spinster, on the south part, the land formerly of Edward Scotton and now of William Cranwell on the east, and a tenement of the Dean and Canons formerly in the tenure of George Taylor on the north, and the street there on the west. From Michaelmas last for 40 years, in trust for the use of such poor of the parish as shall be placed therein. Rent 6s 8d and a couple of capons or 5s. The lessees to keep the premises in repair.
