Indenture of agreement between the Rev John Wilder, Fellow of Eton College, of one part, and the Rev Charles Old Goodford, Provost, and Rev James John Hornby, Headmaster, and the Rev William Adolphus Carter, the Estate Bursar, of the other part, that those of the second part shall be trustees of £200 stock in the new 3% Bank Annuities and £133 6s 8d stock in the 3% Consolidated Bank Annuities, purchased by John Wilder to the following end, namely to devote the income therefrom each year to the purchase of books to be given as a Prize to such scholar, whether a King's scholar or an Oppidan (other than the scholar elected to the Newcastle scholarship who is to be excluded from obtaining it considering that hs is sufficiently rewarded) who as a candidate for the Newcastle Scholarship shall in the judgement of the examiners have shewn the greatest industry and proficiency in the study of Divinity. If the examiners in any year shall consider that no candidate is sufficiently deserving, the dividends for that year shall be invested at 3% Consolidated Bank Annuities by way of addition to the principal trust fund. It shall be lawful for the Provost and Headmaster to make any new regulartions not inconsistent with the general object of the foundation.
