D Gaches, Wootton, to Provost Roberts about repairs to the chancel, for which he is responsible. [Daniel Gaches was vicar of Wootton Wavren and of Long Compton, co. Warwick]. A letter of 7 August 1783 concerning his payment for the chancel of Long Compton church is to be found in ECR 15 099.
