Content description
Memorandum by the Bursar concerning ECR 54 230 - 233. The difficulty of distinguishing the freehold from the College land. It appears that Lesingham has been imposed upon by his agents, "otherwise Crockford the late tenant would not have been suffered to continue so long in the farm without a lease; nor would Meale perhaps have ever been admitted tenant, who seems not to have had substance for it; nor would the estate be now to seek for a tenant at £130, which a few years before was worth £170". With a printed extract from a paper of an advertisement for lettering "the Priory Farm, near Beech-Hill, in the parish of Stratfieldsea, in the counties of Berk and Wilts."
