Content description
The following documents 289 - 427 relating to various estates, have been kept together as they were found. The all date from 1799 and were presumably produced together for the audit of that year. They are all concerned with the Redemption of Land Tax, following upon Pitt’s Land Tax of 1798, and contain correspondence about Valuations, certificates of Redemption and enfranchisement of leaseholds. The letters are addressed to Rev William Roberts (mostly) and Rev Benjamin Heath.
