Counterpart of lease, by the Provost and College to Katherine Reade, of Chalvey in Upton, co. Bucks, widow, of a close of pasture ground called Saffren garden in Slowe in the parish of Stoke Poges, between the tenement of Andrew Windesor, esquire, called Hartes Head on the east, the King's highway leading from Slowe towards London on the south and the common field called Brickfeilde on the west and north now in the tenure of Katherine Reade. Excepting all woods and underwoods. From Michaelmas last for 21 years. Rent 4s 5½d, and one bushel of wheat and two bushels one peck of malt or their money equivalent. The lessee to keep the premises well fenced, for which purpose she may take sufficient hedgeboote of the "loppes and shreddinges" of the trees there.
