Content description
Indenture between Rev William Roberts, clerk, rector of the parish of Farnham Royal, of the first part, Rt. Hon. William, Lord Auckland and Rt. Hon. Sylvester Douglas, two commissioners for the Redemption of Land Tax, of the second part, and William Cavendish Bentinck, Duke of Portland, of the third part, by which Roberts has sold to the Duke a close of meadow and garden ground enclosed, in Hedgerley Dean in the parish of Farnham Royal, containing 1 acre 2 roods 16 perches, bounded on the east by lands belonging to the Duke and on the west and south by lands belonging to William Saunders, occupied by Thomas Taylor, and on the north by the road leading towards Hedgerley Dean, in perpetuity. For £35 6s 4d paid by the Duke into the Bank of England to the account of the Commissioners for the reduction of the National Debt.
