Content description
Thomas Eagle, Baginton, to the Rev. Mr Tew answering criticisms of his report on Oakley from Mr Stone, the Duke's surveyor. "Mr Stone, without any great apperance of candour towards a brother surveyor, says 'Error is everywhere to be found in the statement sent'. Here he appears to quit calculation, and to be pretty much out of humour with his subject, whether from having lately received an unpleasant visit from some impertinent intruder in office, or from any other cause, is to me totally unknown and totally immaterial". Eagle does not feel the lease inclination to recommend the College to make any abatement in their demand.
