School bills of Con O'Neill, at Eton 1615-1622

Con O' Neill (c.1600-1627) was the son of the 2nd Earl of Tyrone. Con was captured when his father fled to Rome fearing arrest for treason. After early education at Dublin he was by King James I's order educated at Eton, living in an Upper Chamber in Saville House. He was at Eton as a Commensal, so had to pay for his board. In 1622 he was committed to the Tower, where he died.
