Son of Thomas John Proctor Carter, an assistant master, he was at Eton from 1884.3 - 1889.3. He became an architect and designed a number of buildings at Eton but was subsequently ordained and appears to have given up his practice. In 1913 he was appointed Vicar of Burnham but apparently left in 1916. From 1922 - 1927 he was Vicar of Lower Faringdon.
