Item
c.1888 - 1893
1
Written on the 18th September and sent from St George's School, Windsor. Informs his parents that they arrived safely last Friday afternoon. Walker drove them as far as Windsor, and they paid a man 7 shillings and 6 pence instead of 9 shillings for the remainder of the way. Charles (older brother) gave them money for this. Complains that the horses are too soft to do the journey; taking them from Slough and dropping Charles at Eton. 15 boys this term, no new masters. States that Burn seems to like Britwell Court (the family home). Talks of the house looking well with a beautiful garden. Played some cricket. Boils water to guard against cholera. His teacher Mr Steel saw his Father in Belfast on the 18th August.
