Edward Christie-Miller: Letter to his Father
Item
22 September 1895
1
Was going to write to his father on Saturday, but had nothing to tell him. Edward asked his mathematics master if there was any chance of him getting into the army through Sandhurst. The master said no, but feels sure there is a way by going through the militia. His leg is better, but hurt him a good deal yesterday and today. He was elected as a member of Garters House debating society; emphasising that his father would approve of this. Worried he'll have nothing to say at the society. Believe's Lord Rosebery's son has come to Eton this half. Talks of the beautiful stained glass windows in Lower Chapel. Finishes off with talking about the lovely weather, but cold mornings and evenings.
