Edward Christie-Miller: Letter to his Father
Item
29 September 1895
1
Edward told Carter what his Father thought about him joining the army. If his father doesn't mind, Carter would like him to continue with his extra mathematical classes. Talks of how he likes his Div master, Mr Benson, immensely. He is a nice man and Edward learns a lot from him. They had a debate last night as to whether fagging should be encouraged at Eton. Walker is very pleased that one of the horses won a cup. Edward went to Upper Chapel for the first time on Friday. His knee is getting better. Lord Rosebery has two sons at Eton this half, Lord Dalmeny and Neil Names Primrose. Asks when Sydney (eldest brother) goes to Sykes. Asks his father to give his best wishes to Miss Carol and love to his mother.
