Edward Christie-Miller: Letter to his Father
Item
c.1888 - 1898
1
Writes to his father wishing him well from his surgury. States that he recieved his gaites a long time ago, they are rather too large, although the buttons can be altered any where. Aunt Loo is so pleased to hear that his father is getting better. She is very busy now preparing for the dance tonight and expects 40 people. The Makino's have given Aunt Loo tickets for the Adelina Patti concert at the Albert Hall. Went to Eton to get some clothes and then visited Britwell. Asked Miss Savile (Sarah) to come with him, and she enjoyed herself immensly. Had a nice ride on Paddy. Walker rode the little hack filly. Walker says that the OBH (Old Berks Hunt) have been hunting. Lord Ribblesdale hurt himself hunting. Edward did not hear the particulars of the accident. Has nothing else to say.
