Much as they regret his decision, agree that if he did not want the position there was no reason why he should feel bound to take it. He himself made clear to the Governing Body that he did not want the job though he would have had to take it if offered. Elliott said to be a good man. `His facade is not impressive but no more is Hitler's'.
