PLACE : EtonEncloses 2 examples of Mr.Townshend's work. Has begun to employ him in `Tully's Orations.' Knows of no book of more general use to a young man destined for publick business.Likely to have a change in government which will mean the Lower Mastership becomes vacant. Presumes from his standing he would have nop great difficulty in obtaining it but `it is a piece of preferment of which I am by no means ambitious'. Would like to give the finishing hand to Mr.Townshend's education. From this and other motives, will not be a candidate. Will be happy to receive any mark of approbation with which he sees fit to honour him.
