Addressed to 'Mr Charles Baratty No 9. Inner Temple Lane London Angleterre.' Requests that he insure items sent on the ship 'New Euphrates' to the value of £50. The goods consist of books and a portfolio of drawings. States he left Venice by Verona and manitua to midland, where he was taken ill. He carried on to Switzerland from there by mules and on foot through heavy snow. Written from Lausanne.
