The three notebooks, in their original bindings, contain a list of pupils Cory taught during his time as a master at Eton. In each volume the pupil has written his own name, his date of birth and the date he arrived at Eton. For the majority of the boys, Cory has added the date they left Eton and a brief note on their subsequent careers. Among the prominent names found in the notebooks are Lord Rosebery, Oscar Browning, William H. Gladstone, Herbert John Gladstone (Viscount Gladstone), Sir Bartle Frere, John Scott, Earl of Kidon, H.C. Maxwell Lyte and the Earl of Pembroke.

Also included in the file are three letters and a receipt regarding the acquisition of the notebooks
