Birch family: The Birch and Caccia family were closely aligned from the mid-nineteenth century when Fabio Caccia married Pauline Birch, while his brother, Mario Caccia married his sister-in-law Clara Birch.
In 1901, Anthony Mario Caccia married his first cousin Fanny Theodora Birch.

This series of genealogical papers were collected during Harold Caccia’s research into his descent upon being awarded a barony. It traces the Caccia family back to the thirteenth century and includes original and official family documentation.
As well as including details of the Caccia family pedigree, it also contains genealogical papers on the wider family ancestors, including the Birch family and the Lamb family.

Most of the genealogical papers were held loose amongst the collection and have been rehoused and catalogued in separate sub-series, created according to the nature of the material. Any discernible original arrangement amongst the files has been maintained. This includes a wooden chest containing various related material, but held separately.
