Henrich Heim was a German lawyer who came to Paris during the German occupation during the Second World War to gather together literature on history, architecture and administration of the theatre, to aid the rebuilding of the Germany’s national theatre after the war. He became particularly interested in the work of Edward Gordon Craig, who was interred in France at the time.
