Content description
Portfolio designed by Craig in 1905 and consisting of six colour mounted prints of Craig’s designs showing Isadora Duncan in ‘movements’ from six of her dances. Alongside is a printed brochure of blank verse written by Craig: ‘Isadora Duncan Six Movement Studies by Edward Gordon Craig’, (1906, Erschienen Im Insel-verlag zu Leipzig), which accompanied the designs.
The originals were exhibited in Düsseldorf and were intended to be exhibited in whichever theatre she was performing in at the time as part of an advertising campaign. However, due to expense, this plan was never implemented and so this limited edition portfolio was created instead.
