Facsimile of a notebook used by Craig to record his ideas and his thoughts. Included throughout the daybook are photographs, both of his family (including Elena Meo and E.A. Craig) and of his work, as well as rough sketches and designs by Craig.
The entries cover Gordon Craig’s time in Florence; Moscow, where he was involved in the production of ‘Hamlet’ and the Moscow Arts Theatre; Paris; St Petersburg; and London. It includes comments on the theatre and his theatrical theories (including scenes and use of black figures); comments on Henry Irving; and ideas for the Arena Goldoni.
