Facsimile of a notebook used by Craig to record his ideas and his thoughts. Included throughout the daybook are photographs, both his family (including Elena, E.A. Craig and Nelly), of the places he visited and his workrooms, his set designs and of his models. It also includes newspaper cuttings relating to the theatre and rough sketches and designs by Craig.
The entries cover Gordon Craig’s time in Moscow; Florence; and London. It includes comments on the theatre and his theatrical theories; news of Isadora Duncan; and notes of his financial affairs.
Some of the pages and photographs have later annotations by Craig dating from the mid-1940s.
The photocopy contains autograph annotations by Edward A. Craig clarifying certain entries in the volume.
