Content description
A collection of personal documents relating to the Hardy family. One envelope contains copies of wills, including the wills of Thomas Hardy, Florence Hardy and Katherine Hardy. These are accompanied by Nat Sparks' written requests for the copies. In the other envelope is a typed list of 'Relics of the Hardy family of Bockhampton'. Some, but not all, of the items listed on it are part of the Sparks archive here at ECL. There is a copy of the poem 'Jabberwocky' written out in Kate Hardy's hand. Also included is a number of papers stapled together and titled 'codes & marks'. It appears to be sequences of code along with a codebreaker. Kate Hardy's initials are on the top page.
