1: A black leather bound notebook with an inscription on the first page: "Verses on various occasions by S. L. Sassoon. Feb. 1899. Vol. I". The notebook contains poems written by Sassoon when he was thirteen years old for his nanny.
2: Autograph leaf entitled "From "An Imaginary Portrait" by Sassoon. It is a manuscript draft, with corrections in blue ink, of a parody of Walter Pater, possibly unpublished. It is inscribed "(Not) by Walter Pater. August 1916". There is a crossed out poetry stanza on the verso.

The notebook is housed in a quarter navy morocco over cloth slip case with gilt lettering on spine.
