The work won the Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize in 1975
This sub-series covers the creation and development of the work from the early manuscripts and typescripts through to the first author's proof and the jacket design.
The manuscripts and typescripts show the development of the poems with the drafts differing from earlier versions to varying degrees. The changes vary from the alteration the word order to complete rewrites of particular stanzas. A number of the early drafts were also written under different titles from the final published version.
The files contain drafts of all 48 poems which appeared in the final work.
