This work won the Queen's Gold Medal for Poetry in 2004
This work is an anthology of poems, selected by Hugo Williams. The poems were drawn from his earlier published works: ‘Symptoms of Loss’, ‘Sugar Daddy’, ‘Some Sweet Days’, ‘Love Life’, ‘Writing Home’, ‘Self-Portrait with a Slide’, ‘Dock Leaves’ and ‘Billy’s Rain’.
This sub-series contains typescripts and photocopies of the poems taken from the original publication, a number of which have been altered before their reprinting in ‘Collected Poems’, as well as proofs for the final work.
