George F. Sims (1923-1999) founded the firm of G. F. Sims (Rare Books) in 1947 in Harrow, Middlesex. He then moved to Hurst, Reading, Berkshire in 1952.
James Mosley (b. 1935) is a retired librarian and historian specialised in the history of printing and letter design.

Original design by Eric Gill of the arms of Eton College dated 8 Jan 1936 and a printed proof together with two notes by G. F. Sims bookseller of Reading, one describing the items and one thanking the buyer in 1976
Provenance
Acquired by G. F. Sims rare books bookseller of Reading. The correspondence in this collection suggests that the two designs may originally have been acquired by James Mosley designer at Reading University and then purchased by Michael Meredith in 1976.
