Richard Tickell was at Eton from 1765-1768. He entered the Middle Temple in 1768, and was a commissioner in the stamp office from 1781-1793. In addition, he was a playwright and satirist. He killed himself in 1793, jumping from the parapet of his room at Hampton Court.
