A son of the 5th Lord Lyttelton, he was in Arthur Benson's house from September 1895 until December 1901. A distinguished cricketer, he was in the XI 1900-1, and Keeper of the Field 1900 - 1901, in Oppidan Wall 1899 - 1901 (Keeper 1900 - 1901) and in Mixed Wall 1899 - 1901, Keeper 1901. He was president of Pop and Secretary of the Music Society. He went on to Trinity College, Cambridge, and returned to Eton as an assistant master in September 1908, retiring in December 1945. He was a housemaster from January 1925 until July 1944.
