This society was founded in 1947. There were to be 15 boy members with music staff and other masters invited to join as honorary members, and three meetings a half, at least one of which was to be a paper by a boy. This ideal was not always maintained but a distinguished list of outside visitors addressed the society, though, as with all Eton societies, attendance was sometimes a problem. In 1957 there is a reference to the society having been dormant for whole halves and three meetings rarely taking place.
