Content description
Applications from students applying for grants to fund their travel expenses. Applications are for both personal trips and trips which are organised by the school. Each form includes the boy’s name and house, his proposed reason and project for travelling, how much it will cost and how much they wish to apply for concerning the grant. Also includes an endorsement by the boy’s house master. In the proposed reason for the grant the boys state various different intentions.
Most of the boys applied for funding for different trips, whilst some boys would apply for funding for trips organised for groups. A few examples of what boys applied for funding for include; Eton College Boat Club Training in Portugal, to work in a foreign country, to travel to Rome to see the works of the great academics, a school trip to Greece, to teach English in Honduras, and to attend a Durham University Expedition to Papua New Guinea.
It is also worth noting that many of the boys wish to join the army either when they leave Eton or after university.
