Travel Grant Applications: 1992
File
1992
1 Bundle
Applications from students applying for grants to fund their travel expenses. Applications are for both personal trips and trips which are organised by the school. Each form includes the boy’s name and house, his proposed reason and project for travelling, how much it will cost and how much they wish to apply for concerning the grant. Also includes an endorsement by the boy’s house master. In the proposed reason for the grant the boys state various different intentions.
Most of the boys applied for funding for different trips, whilst some boys would apply for funding for trips organised for groups. A few examples of what boys applied for funding for include; School trips to Rome and Russia, to visit archaeological sites prior to studying archaeology at Cambridge, a mountaineering expedition in Scotland – not all trips were abroad -, to take part in language courses such as Greek and German, and to visit places like Prague and Czechoslovakia to find primary sources for an A – Level dissertation.
For applications 16 and 44 for February 1992, there is an attached note stating that these applications will not be supported due to the boys parents being rushed into signing the application and not being properly informed.
