Modbury, Devon: Grant of 3s from the mill

Grant by Michael de Speechwick of 3s from the mill of Peekmill to the priory of Modbury, in return for prayers for the souls of his parents, his son Engerannus and all his ancestors buried there, and for the salvation of himself and Alize his wife. Confirmation of the grants made by his father Engerannus, namely a third of all tithes from his lands in Peekmill, and a third of tithes from the mill. Grant also of 20 pigs. With the consent of his sons Thomas and William. Witnesses: William his brother, Dioysius his brother, Ralph the chaplain, Osbert the chaplain of [Buckland], Roger the dean, William reeve of Modbury, Wimund, Ralph the cook, Durand the Norman and Richard son of the priest.
