Content description
Appropriation by John, bishop of Exeter, of the church of St George in Modbury to the abbey of St Pierre-sur-Dives for repair work there and for the housing of the chaplains. Witnesses: Robert, abbot of Forde, Walter the chaplain, William de Ayam, Milo de Tornecumba, Robert Russell de Bumel, William de Roc, Roger the chamberlain, Richard the butler and others.

Seal: Single pointed oval, 40mm (originally about 60mm), brown wax, pendent from doubled tag. Damaged except in the middle. Figure of Bishop with crozier in right hand.
