Modbury, Devon: Counterpart of lease to Rev. Thomas Baker

Counterpart of lease by the Provost and College of Eton, on the surrender of the former lease, to the Reverend Thomas Baker, D.D. of Loventor, in Berry Pomry, Co. Devon, and Ambrose Andrew Rhodes, of Bellair, Co. Devon, Esquire, of the priory, rectory and parsonage of Modbury, and the manors of Modbury, Upton and Penquit, and a tenement in Notter, Co. Cornwall, and eight closes (named) in Modbury, late held by Michael Mallett, and a cottage with three closes (named), and a parcel of land called the Wood, late held by the said Mallett, except advowson of the vicarage and all great timber. To hold for twenty years from Michaelmass last for a yearly rent of forty six pounds, eight shillings and ten pence, and twenty three quarters, two bushels of wheat and sixty two quarters of malt, or their money equivalent at the market rate of Windsor, and six pounds nine shillings and six pence, which is a recent increase of rent, and ten pounds for perquisites of courts and other casualties; also licence for a fine of one hundred pounds, as before.
