Undertaking by Giles Rosee, prior of Stoke Curci [Stogursey], to pay John Caysere half a mark yearly at Michaelmas and provide him with raiment suitable for a groom (vadlet de meistier) and victuals when occupied in his service. And on feast days when he pleases to come he shall be at our disposal when we send to him for our robes and habits. If ill or abroad he is to find a deputy. If he does not receive the above mentioned payment or is disturbed in his office he may distrain on the prior for 100 sous. Witnesses: William Corduwent William Doget Hugh Broun Palph de Colne John le Brokere and others. Given at Stokecurci Tuesday after the feast of St Andrew 10 Edward II

Seal, dark green wax, pointed oval, 35 mm, on doubled tag. St Andrew crucified between figures; beneath a monk in prayer. A legend, defaced.
