Testament of William Fanner, of New Windsor, bequeathing his soul to the Blessed Mary and All the saints and his body to be buried in the cemetery of the church of St Andrew of Clywar; item to the fabric of the church of Sarum 4d; item to the fabirc of the church of Clyware 12d; item to the high altar of Clywar 12d; item to a light in the said church 2d; item to four priests celebrating in the said church 4d apiece; item to the clerk of the said church 2d; item to Thomas, his son, a pot containing 2½ gallons and a bowl containing 2 gallons; item to William his son, a bowl containing 7 gallons; item to William his son, a shop situated in the town of Windsor in the fee of the lord of Clywar between the messuage of the testator and the messuage of William atte Pull and extending at one end onto the King's way and at the other onto the barn of John Smyth, to be held by the said William and the heirs of his body with the remainder to Thomas, the testator's son, and the heirs of his body, and in default of such heirs the shop is to be sold by the hands of the rector and proctors of the church of Clywar for the time being and the profil disposed for the testator's soul as shall seem best to them; item to Catherine, his wife, all his messuage situated between the said shop and the King's way called Newstrat, to be held for her life, with remainder to Thomas his son, and the heirs of his body, with remainder to William, his son, and the heirs of his body, and in default of such heirs the messuage is to be sold by the rector and proctors aforesaid to support a priest to celebrate for one whole year for the souls of the testator, his wife, their fathers and mothers and all the faithful dead, and it there is a residue of money after the said year it is to be devoted to repairing the streets in the town of Windsor where necessary; item to William Couper all the farm of 2½ acres of which the testator has ½ acre leased from John Matheu and ½ from Robert Matheu; the residue of his goods to Katherine, his wife. For the faithful execution of the will be appoints Katherine, his wife, and William Couper his executors. Friday in the feast of St Katherine the virgin 1384.
