Nathaniel Bennet versus Rober Badplay in a plea of ejectment. The said Nathaniel by Alexander Staples, his attorney, pleads that whereas the Provost of the Royal College of the Blessed Mary of Eaton by Windsor, co. Bucks, and the College on 30 December 12 Anne at the borough of New Windsor within the jurisdiction of this court leased the said Nathaniel 4 messuages with in the said borough for 5 years from Christmas then last past, and the lessee then entered and took possession, the said Robert forcibly entered and expelled him on the same day and his is loss is £20.

I am informed that you are in possession or claim title to the premises in this declaration of ejectment mentioned or to some part thereof, and I being sued in this action as casual ejector and having no claim or title to the same, do advise you to appear at the next court to be holden for the borough of New Windsor on Monday 5 April next by some attorney at that court, and then and there by rule of the same court to cause yourself to be made defendant in my stead, otherwise I shall suffer judgment therein to be entered against me and you will be turned our of possession.
