Long Compton, Warwickshire: Indenture of agreement over exchange of land

Indenture of agreement between Sir William Compton, knight, Lord Compton, Sir Thomas Compton, knight, his brother, and Walter Pye and Robert Pye, esquires, on one part, and the Provost and College of Eton on the other. Whereas Lord Compton et al hold the manors of Long Compton (sometime Stanleyes) and Bulleynes, and the Provost and College hold the rectory of Long Compton, and their lands are 'confusedlie intermingled' one with the other and the latter or their farmers have tithes of the said manors and neither party can make so great a benefit as otherwise they might, the following articles are agreed upon:
1) Lord Compton et al to have the 14 yards land of meadow, arable and pasture, belonging to the said manors and being the demesne thereof, with all tithes therefrom formerly belonging to the rectory, and all right of common in a close of pasture in the ground called the Coates and in a meadow called the Overend meadow, heretofore belonging to 4 yard land and parcel of the rectory. To hold in perpetuity.
2) Lord Compton et al, to have 2 yard land of meadow arable and pasture to the site of the .... now held by Lord Compton by virtue of a lease made by Anthony Ingram, esquire, and Dorothy, his wife, unto one Hawkins .... To hold for the term yet unexpired of the said lease.
3) The Provost and College to have one close of meadow or pasture called the Courte Close containing about 10 acres, abutting to the north upon a brook running to the mill, to the south on a lane called Berry lane leading from the town into the field, to the west on Home lane, and to the east on the west part of the churchyard of the parish church of Long Compton, together with two dovehouses therein and the flights of pigeons and old decayed barn or outhouse. To hold in perpetuity.
4) The Provost and College to have two small hamms of closes of meadow, containing about 2 acres, parcel of the demesne of the manor of Long Compton, abutting to the south upon the said brook and to the north upon a highway that separates Homeclose and the said hamms. To hold for the term yet unexpired of the said lease.
5) The Provost and College to enjoy, as the tenants of the Overend, commons upon all the lands allotted for commons to the said tenants in the South Field and in the Overend Blase Pasture.
6) The foregoing articles to be embodied in a decree in the court of Chancery.
