Indenture of grant by William Nycholes, of Babyngton, to John Nycholes, his father, of all that tenement which Nicholas de Britton once held in the town of Babyngton [Babington]. To hold for his life. Rent a double rose at the feast of the Nativity of St John the Baptist. Witnesses: William Samuel, John de Caulesworth, Henry de Scywebur, William Upedeene, (Robert de) Colford. Babynton.
An endorsement states that the said John gave his tenement to the said William, his son, a clerk, who later refeoffed the said John of the same. And the said John died a tenant of the said William wherefore the men of law say that a heriot is due to (or from?) William, the son, from whom he held. The name of the rector of the church of Babyngton was John de Howedene.
Doubled tag for seal which is missing.
