Content description
Indenture of bargain and sale, by the Provost and the College to Richard Harryson, of Stratfield Saye, esquire, of all the woods on the priory lands, now in his occupation, except for the trees on the mill heise and the chapple heyse, and 120 trees on the premises which are marked. From Michaelmas last for 20 years. Twelve standers to be left, at every felling, to be marked by the lessors, at the coppice. Yearly rent £3 6s 8d.
Memorandum on the dorse of the sealing and marking of 120 trees (specified).
Witnesses: Benjamin Owtred, notary public, and Thomas Hochinson.
Signature of lessee.
Seal, oval, 15mm, red wax, on doubled tag. Armorial: in chief 3 eagles displayed.
Attached is a bond in £100 by the lessee for the obervance of the conditions of the lease. Signature of lessee.
