Little Tew, Oxfordshire: Probate of J. Castell

Probate 6 February 1713/14, by the official of the archdeaconary of Oxford of the will, 9 May 1712, of John Castell deceased of Little Tew in the parish of Great Tew, yeoman, bequeathing to
(1) Anne Castell, his daughter, £80
(2) Margaret Castell, his daughter £80
(3) Mary, his daughter £100
(4) Walter, his son £100
The foregoing sums to be raised from his personal estate and invested by his executor for the said children until they are 21.
(5) All his children his household goods to be shared equally.
(6) William Castell, his brother, and Ralph Marshall gentleman and William Barrett chirurgeon the residue after his debts and legacies and funeral expenses are paid. The last named appointed executors in trust.
Administration granted to the said three executors in trust. Attached is a further probate and grant of administration, 4 January 1717/18, to the said John Castell, the son.
The papered seal of the official is attached by doubled tag to both probates.
