Flach Marsh, Kent: Copy grants of marsh

Copy of grant, 20 December 1507 by Walter Veale, knight, of Willington, to the abbot and convent of Lesenesse [Lesnes], co. Kent, of the marsh called le Flache in the parishes of Ludenham, Ore and Feversham [Luddenham, Oare and Faversham], containing 123 acres of marsh of which 40 acres are saltmarsh.
Copy of licence 10 March 1387, by the crown to Robert Deale to grant of the abbey of Lesenesse 83 acres of marsh in the Flache, and to Thomas Howlate and John his brother to grant 20 acres of marsh in the same and 14 acres of arable or pasture called Upland to the same.
Note that Mr Norton had the Flache in lease from the Provost and Fellows of Eton “93 akers and soe hathe the mershe booke which is in Mr Drylandes keapeinge. The Flache contayneth by estimation 123 akers lyinge lyinge and beinge in the parishes of Ludenham Ore and Feversham… whereof there is 40 salte mershe and lyeth between the Flete southe weste and northe to the lands of the abbots of Fevershame called Lodgemershe towards the easte and northe and the same Lodgemershe and Mr Norton’s ground called Howletts towards the easte and alsoe towards the lande of the same Mr Norton called Howletts towards the northe easte and upon the same Mr Norton’s lande caled Howletts to the southe and by the lands of Mr Rawfe Symonds west and southe”.
