East Wretham, Norfolk: Indenture of lease of manor

Indenture of lease by the Provost and College to George Blythe, of Lincoln’s Inn, gentleman, of the manor of Estewrotham [East Wretham], with all its appurtenances, except the advowson of the church, profits of courts etc. To hold from Michaelmas 1581 (or whensoever a lease dated 18 April 1550 to George Baon for 21 years shall expire) for 40 years. Rent £30 8s 4d to wit at Lady Day £13 6s 8d and 30 good wethers of Norfolk breed or £3 15s in lieu of the same, and at Michaelmas £13 6s 8d. The lessee binds himself in £100 for the observation of the forgoing.
