Chirograph.
Grant by Emma, wife of the late John Tebelyn, of Estburnham, in her widowhood, to Thomas Germeyn, of la Wodelonde in Burnham, and Julian, his wife, of all the lands and tenements which fell to her by inheritance at la Sloo in la Wodelonde of the said township of Burnham, for their lives. Rent for the first 13 years from Michaelmas next 7s 2d and 2 bushels of maslin, and to the chief lords the yearly service (except suit of court and the works of the church and a moiety of the King's service when is shall occur); and after the thirteen years 40s. If the rent is a month late, the grantees are bound to pay the double, and the distrain. If the grantees die before the thirteen years, the premises are to got to heirs or assigns to the end of that time. If the premises should be alienated by the grantor to anybody during that term so that the grantees are in any way impeded therein, then they may claim fee therein and hold the same in fee in perpetuity. The grantee not to cut down trees save only for making fences.
